League Rules

Game Format

• Games will be played 7v7, including a goalkeeper.

• Matches are 25 minutes with no halftime. The clock will not stop for any reason, as to keep the flow of games going.

• Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes before kickoff.

• Teams are responsible for being ready to play at their scheduled kickoff time. Teams not on the field within five minutes of the scheduled start time are subject to forfeit. 

Field & Equipment

• All matches will be played on an indoor soccer field.

• The ball will be an indoor soccer ball appropriate for the facility.

• Players must wear appropriate indoor soccer footwear.

• No metal cleats or outdoor soccer cleats are permitted.

• Shin guards are recommended, but not required.

• Jewelry and other equipment deemed unsafe by the referee may not be worn.

• Teams are responsible for color-coordination.

Rosters & Player Eligibility

• Players must be registered with MCSL before participating.

• Players may only play for one team during the tournament.

• MCSL reserves the right to verify player identity and eligibility.

• A player who is not registered with MCSL will not be permitted to play in the tournament. 

Tournament Rules

• Teams will play in a group stage to determine who moves on to the elimination round. 

• Tiebreakers are as follows:

  • Head-to-Head

  • Goal Differential

  • Most Goals Scored

  • Least Goals Allowed

  • A 5 minute golden goal match

  • A best of 3 penalty kick tournament

• Referee decisions are final and can not be appealed

• A player receiving a yellow card must sub off, and can return to the field two minutes later. 

  • A second yellow card issued to a player in the tournament (regardless of what matches they were issued in) results in ejection from the tournament. 

• A player who receives a red card is immediately ejected from the tournament.

  • The player must leave the premises within 5 minutes. If a player fails to do so, their team will be subject to forfeit.
